Position Summary:
We are looking for a passionate Android engineer to join Samsung Knox Advanced R&D team. Your primary goal is to design, implement and deploy Knox application and service for Samsung Android devices used. Applicants playing key roles on developing various Android application components and delivering unique business value to our customers and partners.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver Android-based software features/products
- Maintain a high software quality with scalability, maintainability, extensibility, usability, and security
- Communicate with internal and/or external (global) teams to help plan and prioritize development
- Collaborate with UX designers and product managers to understand and refine the product requirements
- Work closely with QA to identify, debug and fix functionality/performance issues
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of industry experience on Android development; or equivalent experience
- Proven work experience in Android native development using Java/Kotlin
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, and multi-threaded programming
- Familiar with Agile/Scrum development process and tools such as JIRA/Gerrit
- Good understanding of Application Security concepts
- Can work independently and/or as a team player
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good understanding of the Android framework/internals
- Knowledge and experience in Windows Hello, FIDO, WebAuthn, Passkey Authentication is a strong plus
- Experience with React, Spring Boot, and/or Node.js is a strong plus
- Knowledge and experience in hypervisor/Trustzone on ARM platform is a strong plus
- Knowledge and experience in Accessibility/Autofill/Biometric authentication on Android
- Experience with REST and JSON, third party libraries and APIs
- Experience with Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Analytics & Firebase Performance
- Experience with MVVM and clean architecture design pattern
- Experience with Jetpack architecture components
- Experience with Android development using NDK (C/C++)
- Knowledge and experience in on-device machine learning, device-to-device communication, and/or applied cryptography is a strong plus
Our total rewards programs are designed to motivate and engage exceptional talent. The base pay range for roles at this level is $135,800 and $186,650, but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.
