Tala KE is looking for an Associate Legal Counsel to be providing legal advisory support on regulation, product strategy, corporate governance and compliance matters. This position will be supporting KE’s Senior Legal Counsel and Director in projects and unique challenges that arise in a global, growing startup.

    • Assist on projects on regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
    • Draft commercial contracts and other documentation on a wide range of matters including marketing, collections and payment support services.
    • Maintain contract database.
    • Organising legal documentation/filing systems.
    • Legal research.
    • Stay up to date on relevant rules and regulations relevant to Tala’s business.
    • Drafting memos to legal team and business units on points of law.
    • Assisting Senior Legal Counsel and Director, Legal on special projects, such as licensing and partnerships.
    • 2 years of post qualification legal experience
    • A law degree from a leading university or law school
    • At least 2 years at a top tier law firm in Kenya, preferably on fintech, finance or corporate matters (preferred)
