The Opportunity
The heart of insitro’s strategy is the development of novel, groundbreaking methods in machine learning and high-throughput biology that address key bottlenecks in the drug development pipeline. To accomplish that, we are putting together a team of life scientists with pioneering cellular and technological expertise. As a Genomics Associate Scientist, you will work to implement and complete genomic workflows, collaborating across multiple functions at insitro. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop, transfer and validate manual process steps to automated liquid handling and coordinated systems. You will support the development and operation of in-house sequencing and genomic assays, such as single cell and bulk RNA-seq as a part of our data generation pipelines. This role provides the opportunity to collaborate with a very hardworking multidisciplinary team as you develop and run innovative assays in a brand-new environment with the goal to accelerate machine learning based drug discoveries.
In this role you will:
- Prepare Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) single-cell and bulk RNAseq libraries
- Complete QC, normalization and pooling of final libraries
- Load library pools onto in-house Illumina sequencers, troubleshoot sequencing issues, breakdown/maintain/wash instruments
- Assess quality metrics to evaluate assay performance
- Communication with external vendors
You will be joining a biotech startup with long-term stability due to significant funding, but yet is very much in formation. A lot can change in this early and exciting phase, providing many opportunities for significant impact. You will work closely with a versatile team, learn a broad range of skills, and help craft insitro’s culture, strategic direction, and outcomes. Join us, and help make a difference to patients!
