About the role: As a Camera Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the Camera Hardware Engineering Team, responsible for defining and optimizing the camera assembly process. In this role, you will develop manufacturing flows, establish process parameters, and determine the required equipment for camera assembly. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the seamless integration and high-performance of our camera systems for our next-generation drones. This role will be based in Taiwan.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Develop process flows, equipment, metrology, and quality measures to facilitate the realization of camera module designs, and provide valuable feedback to support design iterations and identify improvement opportunities for all camera modules intended for use in our next-generation drones.
- Work closely with our autonomy and product design teams to optimize the camera assembly process for system integration and performance, and drive these designs from prototyping to mass production with contract manufacturers.
- Excellent learning and growth opportunity to join the new camera hardware engineering team developing multiple custom cameras and to have a significant impact on our future roadmap and across the entire drone industry.
What makes you a good fit:
- Comprehensive understanding of active alignment techniques in camera manufacturing and assembly processes
- Familiarity with metrology tools and quantitative measurement methodology
- Knowledge of adhesive, epoxy, or other bonding materials
- Good understanding of optical system components
- Leverage expertise in SMT, COB, and assembly manufacturing processes
- Possess troubleshooting and optimization skills
- Proven ability to perform DOE, statistical analysis, and process capability control, as well as demonstrate failure mode analysis, root cause investigation, and problem-solving skills for product yield and quality issues
- Prior experience of working with subcontract manufacturing partners
- Flexibility for International business travel to support project development, and support product manufacturing
- Good language proficiency and communication skills
