SafeAI is seeking a highly capable Chief Technology Officer, who is passionate about autonomous vehicles, machine learning and is driven to make an impact. To be successful in this role, you should be hands-on leader with expertise and experience in developing end to end autonomous software stack including perception, localization, object detection, navigation and vehicle controls.

·       Lead all aspects of the development lifecycle including requirement analysis, strategic planning, design/architecture, execution, deployment, and maintenance

·       Provide technical leadership to architect and develop autonomous algorithms that are ready to ramp up in production for off-road autonomous vehicles in mining and construction industries

·       Provide a clear vision and technology roadmap for the engineering organization that meets market demands and ensures the development of products that are flexible, scalable, reliable, and maintainable

·       Deliver high quality enterprise-grade solutions under aggressive timelines and within budget

·       Expand, lead, and mentor a best-in-class engineering team

·       Create/improve development processes, technology infrastructure, and a culture that enables a geographically dispersed team to collaborate effectively

·       Work closely and in partnership with Product Management, Quality Assurance and Operations teams

·       Executive Leadership - Participate as a key member of the Product Planning Group. Work in collaboration with other leaders/executives to define the product roadmap and ensure the software engineering team is well aligned with company objectives

·       Innovation and Continuous Improvement - Build a culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement

·       MS or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field

·       Strong programming skills with C/C++, could produce robust, well-tested C++ software

·       15+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, passionate about leading and building advanced AI models and algorithms.

·       5+ years of strong experience in autonomous platform building blocks such as localization, perception, behavior planning, navigation and controls.

·       Experience leading and motivating engineering teams and managing complex projects

·       Outstanding presentation and communication skills

·       Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements

·       Experience with ROS

·       Experience with C++ 14 & 17

·       Experience with cloud infrastructure

The base salary range for this position is $250K - $320K per year. SafeAI’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
