TEAM
The Software Platform Team’s mission is to simplify software development and increase developer agility by creating tools and processes which enable novel uses of vehicles without compromising safety.
The Software Production Line Team is a sub-team of Software Platform, focusing on creating and automating code to car software pipelines to continuously build, test, and deliver software to the car. As a member of the Software Production Line team, you will create tools and processes to enable safe, secure and automated delivery of production software to vehicles.
With a focus on CI, CD and automation, you will work closely with other teams to integrate and deliver automotive software, at scale. You will be responsible for improving software quality and agility through automation which will be used to create the next generation of automotive software.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for engineers who are passionate about architecting well designed processes and software which delight developers and enable the next generation of automotive software development. The right candidate will have solid coding skills, broad knowledge of software development, and excellent communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will be to develop and maintain tools (in particular CI/CD workflows) to build, test and integrate software across multiple repositories before delivery to the vehicle. These workflows will enable quicker and safer development lifecycles. As part of our team, you will:
・Use modern tools (Bazel, Github Actions, Gitlab CI) to build cross repository integration and delivery workflows
・Ensure developers can commit and deploy software with confidence, avoiding breaking changes and unforeseen regressions
・Work to optimize how we build and deliver software to the vehicle at scale
・Work closely with our automotive and cloud software teams to improve the development experience and software quality across a large, safety critical codebase by integrating CI/CD best practices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
・Relevant professional experience in build tools and automation, both in CI (ex. Github Actions) and local build systems (ex. Bazel)
・Strong software development experience and knowledge (ex. Python or similar languages)
・Knowledge of development best practices for large, distributed codebases (ex. system level testing, dependency management)
・Excellent people and engagement skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
・Professional experience in working with and optimizing large scale builds (ex. merge queues, merge skew)
・Knowledge of Python tools for automation
・Knowledge of C++ software development and common tools (for building and testing C++)
・Familiarity with working in a security and safety focused environment and their related standards.
