About the team

Your role

Dialpad’s Collections Manager  will oversee our two current collections analysts and ensure that cases are handled appropriately and according to company policy.  In this role, you’ll combine  your analytical skills with your collections knowledge to help increase our quarterly collections and lower our DBO. As a Collections Manager, you’ll own the cash collection and application process. You’ll work closely with the billing, revenue, orders, & customer success teams to help coordinate customer payments and resolve issues quickly.  You’ll also have the chance to implement changes to the department as you see fit to create a proficient and efficient department. Foster team unity as you build relationships while working closely with your team and fellow managers to continually reach department and company-wide business goals

This position reports to our Senior Manager of Revenue & Billing and has the opportunity to be based in Vancouver, Canada.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate activities of staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient department that reduces the number of cases that are overlooked.
  • Creating and implementing a strategy to improve the collection of outstanding credit.
  • Implementing collection policies and procedures to avoid excessive outstanding credit.
  • Ensuring that the company policy on recoveries is followed and that it is in line with state and federal regulations.
  • Remaining informed of any legislative procedural training regarding debt collection.
  • Run reports and analyze data pertaining to the department and share with executive staff and managers of department staff as needed.
  • Communicate with clients to build and maintain a strong working relationship and reduce the number of clients who stop working with the company.
  • Negotiating with customers in cases when non-payment occurs.
  • Recruit, hire, train and evaluate staff members within the collections department to ensure a sufficient number of staff members are available to handle the workload.

Skills you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 3–5 year’s experience as a collections manager.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Netsuite
  • The ability to work accurately and independently.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and an eye for detail.
  • Outstanding leadership and managerial skills.
  • Strong time and people management skills.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
