Data Collection Intern

We are searching for a Data Collection Intern whose work will help us build AI robotic vision and control systems. We are building autonomous industrial robots that perform a wide range of tasks and integrate with customers’ complex software environments. As a Data Collection Intern, you will collaborate with our machine learning, motion planning, and product teams to set up, run, and troubleshoot our data collection process that directly feeds our machine learning models.

The US base salary range for this full time position is $20 - 38 an hour. Actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to work location, job-related skills, and experience.

    • Operate a robot to record data (both manually and programmatically) from a variety of sensors, potentially including simulations
    • Collect test requirements from R&D and product teams; use them to prepare a test plan
    • Organize and apply scripts to preprocess, transform, and augment the data
    • Run experiments and test software on robotic hardware
    • Track performance metrics for various machine learning models
    • Report errors and brainstorm solutions with the AI and robotic control teams
    • Learn how a system fuses sensor feedback and deep learning to control a robot
    • Patience and diligence to ensure clean and accurate data
    • Hands-on experience working in a Linux/macOS command line environment
    • Good communication and organizational skills
    • Python programming experience
    • Experience working with robots, robotic sensors including 3D cameras and grippers
