We are searching for a Director of Field Operations to lead, manage and build our field support operations team.

As a Director of Field Operations, you will spin up and manage an operation that can provide nationwide support to our robotic piece-picking solutions for e-commerce. You will lead, assemble, and train a team of field technicians to commission new robotics systems at customer sites. You will also train customer personnel to operate these systems and perform regular maintenance and repair remotely and via onsite technical troubleshooting and support. The field support team will work cross functionally with QA/QE, Systems and Solutions engineers to ensure continuous improvement, reliability, quality, and autonomy of our systems across facilities.

The US base salary range for this full time position is $160,000 - $185,000. Actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to work location, job-related skills, and experience. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for benefits and equity.

The above full-time position is available immediately. You should be willing to move to the SF Bay Area.

The above full-time position is available immediately.
    • Developing processes and building a team to perform both remote and onsite software & IT commissioning and provisioning
    • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with integrators and vendors
    • Directing, coordinating, and communicating installation and commissioning activities in the field; and monitoring daily operations
    • Collaborating with Program Management to develop detailed deployment plans and install schedules that meet customer timelines
    • Developing acceptance test plans alongside Program Management that fulfill acceptance criteria laid out in SoWs
    • Overseeing execution of system quality checks and final Site Acceptance Testing
    • Managing install deadlines, balancing staffing requirements to ensure coverage, and training & mentoring the team to ensure timeliness
    • Forecasting expenses and monitoring costs at various stages of the project to stay within budgets
    • Scheduling and managing onsite maintenance, preventative maintenance, and system tuning
    • Performing data collection and model training to ensure optimal production performance
    • This role will require onsite travel up to 50%
    • Engineering degree - computer science, electrical engineering preferred
    • Customer-centric mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • 5+ years experience leading teams providing around-the-clock support and managing multiple shifts
    • 1-2+ years experience training and coaching direct reports
    • Excellent customer-facing communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues to diverse audiences (e.g., operations, engineering, or leadership)
    • 8-10+ years of progressively expanding responsibilities and experience deploying and supporting hardware and software systems at customer sites
    • Mastery/expertise and performance within the areas of field operations, maintenance and customer delivery
    • Detailed technical knowledge of materials handling processes and robotic automation solutions
    • Empathy: well versed in managing vendor relationships and contractors
    • Project management skills, leading and directing complex engineering projects with budgets and timelines
    • Previous experience deploying systems solutions at customer facilities.
    • Detailed knowledge of supply chain management software and practices
