SafeAI is looking to hire an experienced Director of Finance to work directly with the CEO to streamline financial operations. This position plays a key role in the company’s strategic financial decision-making responsibility. The Director of Finance will oversee all company financial activities including accounting, financial analysis and modeling, auditing, and implementing company financial policies.

    • Lead all planning, developing, and implementing effective accounting strategies, policies and procedures
    • Assist the CEO with fundraising and financing strategy support as the company scales
    • Ensures that accounting plans, goals, and policies are consistent with established Company-wide goals
    • Manages the development and implementation of financial information and control systems, including general ledger, budgeting, cost allocation, and other subsystems
    • Coordinates tax reporting requirements.  Works with external tax accountants to file federal, state, sales and property tax returns.
    • Assist with quarterly Board of Director reports and presentations and managing monthly reporting to investors and creditors
    • Reports on variances against budget and shares reports with functional executives; advises functional executives and other management on impact of business decision on accounting entries
    • Owns the optimization and standardization of SafeAI’s financial modeling/forecasting process
    • Assists with any internal or external audits.  Ensures that accounting records and reports are in compliance with GAAP and FASB
    • Work at building out the internal and external financial and accounting support team as the business scales
    • Ensures that all employees are well informed of accounting policies, procedures, and regulations; facilitate consistency at all levels of accounting operations
    • Partners with Commercial/Operation team to negotiate price discounts or payment terms with suppliers as needed
    • Reviews all new agreements and contracts for potential high costs or conflicts
    • Performs revenues and cash projections from existing accounts
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.
    • 8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, which should include hands-on closing of monthly accounting books
    • Must possess prior managerial/supervisory experience, with ability to mentor & develop professional skills of team
    • Proficient in QuickBooks and Office Suite
    • Expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and FASB
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to details & accuracy
    • Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to communicate effectively with both financially & non-financially oriented colleagues
    • Be able to work cross-functionally & independently, with minimal supervision and be responsive to needs of the business
    • Committed to continuous improvement of effectiveness and quality of financial information
    • Good time-management skills & ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
