We combine deterministic data and advanced processing techniques to continuously train these algorithms as they optimize our clients’ key performance indicators (KPIs), predicting consumer behavior in order to autonomously drive full-funnel marketing performance at scale.


We are looking for a Director of Media Trading & Strategy with strong performance marketing experience and thorough knowledge of ad tech to oversee and ensure the continued growth of the business. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to play a part in growing the first ever deep learning solution for marketers. This role will operate within the ‘Client Success’ team and you will lead, manage, mentor a growing a team of media traders. You will oversee all campaigns ensuring client objectives are met and support closing new business. You will support thought leadership and have excellent communication skills to build and nourish strong internal relationships and work cross-functionally across multiple teams including sales, marketing, data science and engineering.


This position will be located in New York with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office (Mon/Tue/Wed) and 2 days remote (Thursday/Friday).

    • Manage a diverse team, overseeing their day-to-day work and their overall professional career development
    • Oversee the planning and execution of all campaigns from RFP stage to finish, ensuring successful execution and delivery of KPIs
    • Lead well-rounded media strategy, planning, execution, and reporting of all clients
    • Accountable for meeting profitability goals, identifying growth and cross sell opportunities and assessing effective resourcing needs and support.
    • Consistently evaluate the needs of the business and addressing areas of weakness, contributing to the development of internal processes and best practices to improve efficiency and deliver a superior product and client experience
    • Responsible for driving results against multitude of goals across the funnel and tracking progress toward goals
    • Ability to take complex data and translate into simple, meaningful, and actionable insights to both internal teams and clients
    • Design and set key metrics to quantify the impact of marketing activities driven by Cognitiv
    • Work cross-functionally with Marketing to produce case studies
    • Be a part of a collaborative team that will identify and support organizational needs as the business develops
    • 7+ years’ experience in a media optimization role at an agency, DSP or Ad Network required
    • Strong media trading background
    • Deep knowledge of DSP bidding algorithms
    • Experience overseeing marketing strategy, subscriber acquisition, and customer engagement and retention
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Proven leadership skills and a passion for developing talent
    • Demonstrated ability to drive alignment between client needs and business capabilities
    • Deep knowledge in performance marketing across all media
    • Familiarity with key programmatic and digital platforms
    • Understanding and familiarity of key industry concepts and trends
    • Excellent verbal and written skills
    • Exceptional organizational skills and detail-oriented mindset
    • Strong presentation skills and comfort presenting to senior stakeholders
    • Strong analytical abilities and quantitative skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
    • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
    • Possess strong analytic skills
    • Comfortable handling large data sets in SQL and Excel. Experience with visualization tools like Tableau is a plus.
    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, economics, finance, computer science, mathematics, or engineering
    • $160,000-$180,000 base + equity
