The Opportunity
The heart of insitro’s strategy is the combination of novel, cutting edge methods in machine learning, biology at scale and small molecule discovery that address key bottlenecks in the drug development pipeline. To accomplish that, we are putting together an incredible team of highly talented drug discovery scientists who want to make a difference to these important problems. In this key role, you will help build the DMPK/ADME group and Drug Discovery department. Your primary duties will include (i) guide DMPK/ADME efforts in projects as lead and/or project team leader  (ii) work cross-functionally to drive drug discovery projects through different stage gates towards clinical development candidates (iii) lead DMPK/ADME CRO efforts (iv) explore new approaches to utilize machine learning in drug discovery with a particular focus on DMPK/ADME

About You
  • PhD in pharmaceutical science, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism or a related field with 8+ years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical discovery and development
  • Comprehensive understanding and scientific knowledge of DMPK/ADME, PK/PD and drug development processes
  • Demonstrated track record of leading role in advancing projects through different stages of drug discovery
  • Track record of innovation and impact on projects through peer-reviewed publication and/or patent applications
  • High level of creativity and productivity towards solving complex DMPK/ADME problems
  • Extensive working knowledge of drug discovery principles and techniques beyond DMPK/ADME
  • Experience managing scientific collaboration and CRO resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across multi-functional teams
  • Intellectual curiosity to push the boundaries of drug discovery

Compensation & Benefits at insitro

Our target starting salary for successful US-based applicants for this role is $215,000 - $235,000. To determine starting pay, we consider multiple job-related factors including a candidate’s skills, education and experience, the level at which they are actually hired, market demand, business needs, and internal parity. We may also adjust this range in the future based on market data.

This role is eligible for participation in our Annual Performance Bonus Plan (based on company targets by role level and annual company performance) and our Equity Incentive Plan, subject to the terms of those plans and associated policies.
