TEAM
The Toyota Woven City is aiming at having a fully connected ecosystem powered by low carbon free energy (“CFE”) including renewable power as well as hydrogen to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It is envisioned as ‘A Living Laboratory’ and ‘Ever Evolving City’, incorporating various types of cutting edge technologies. At the same time, it is also ‘Human-Centered,’ that is, it is expected to keep people safe and comfortable. Our mission is to guide every single business and services of Woven City to most effectively and passionately move forward towards each operation phase of the ever-evolving city.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for those who will develop, launch and ever-evolve the power and energy services that are safe, secure, flexible and convenient for people living, working or visiting in Woven City. Energy team plays critical roles in providing next-level city infrastructure and enabling enhanced user experiences of other services in Woven City. You'll be responsible for building strategically significant experiences and creating solutions that solve real-life problems.

The Business Development Manager reports to the Electric Power Manager,  Energy.
If you are currently located outside of Japan we will set an interview over Google Hangout Meet or Skype.

    • Take ownership and responsibility for making business strategy/roadmap through the evaluation of in-market opportunities to provide the energy services aiming at, for instance, (1) power resiliency increases, (2) development of cost-saving programs, (3) additional revenue generation opportunity and (4) sustainability improvements etc
    • Develop the scalable programs by utilizing the city energy management system for its future commercialization business framework and execute the innovative projects focused on the resources, for instance, (1)EV battery VPPs, (2)hydrogen FC generation systems, (3)on/off-site power assets including own PV power generation and (4)the other related technologies in an effort to the city energy management systems development to maintain the energy flexibility and demand-side management.
    • Lead to model the energy supply and demand optimization program in the Woven City area through the data verification based on the big data analytics, power supply-demand forecast, power price forecast, and power generation forecast etc.
    • Collaborate with the internal team members and external entities including multiple contractors, engineers, utilities, related agencies and associations on the implementation and management of energy projects as Woven by Toyota group business in a timely and accurate fashion.
    • Manage budgets, project schedules, financial models, and associated contracts.

    • エナジーサービス提供に関する市場参入評価を通じ、ビジネス戦略とそのロードマップを構築する(電力レジリエンスの向上、コスト削減、追加的な収益機会の創出、並びにサステナビリティ向上等を狙うもの)。
    • 将来の商用化ビジネス規模拡張に資するプログラム企画開発や、革新的なプロジェクトの実行(エネルギー柔軟性維持や需要側マネジメントへのまちのエネルギーマネジメントシステムを用い、例えば、(1)EVバッテリーによるVPP、(2)水素FC発電システム、(3)自社PV案件を含めたオンサイト・オフサイト電力発電資産、(4)その他関連技術といったものに焦点を当てたもの)。
    • ビッグデータの分析に基づく検証、電力需給予測、電力価格予測、発電量予測等を通じ、Woven City エリアのエネルギー需給最適化運用のモデル化をリードする。
    • Woven by Toyotaのエネルギー関連ビジネスの実施や管理を適切に遂行するべく、社内外の関係者との緊密に連携をとる(契約関係相手、エンジニア、電力会社、関連省庁、関連協会、他)。
    • 予算、プロジェクトスケジュール、ファイナンスモデル、関連契約書の管理。
    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
    • At least 5 - 10 years of work experience at, for instance, the power retail team / power sales business  development team of  a major utility company / large corporate energy supply firm, having significant experiences on such as various VPPs evaluation, business development for related energy services field such as ancillary service, demand response, capacity market.
    • Knowledge of renewable energy such as solar pv / wind power projects and also energy storage, power markets, technology, and economics.
    • Experience in financial modeling and valuation of relevant projects and markets; including Excel skills.
    • Knowledge of Japanese energy markets and regulations including energy services business such as ancillary services / capacity market.
    • Business Level proficiency in English and Japanese Language.

    • 学士(関連分野)の取得。
    • 大手公益事業会社/大企業やエネルギー供給会社の電力小売チーム・電力販売事業開発チームで、少なくとも 5 ~ 10 年の実務経験があること(例えば、各種VPP の評価、アンシラリー サービス、デマンド レスポンス、容量市場などの関連するエネルギー サービス分野のビジネス経験等)。
    • 太陽光発電/風力発電プロジェクトなどの再生可能エネルギー、エネルギー貯蔵、電力市場、技術、経済学に関する知識。
    • 財務モデリング・案件評価の経験(含、エクセルのスキル)。
    • 日本のエネルギー市場・制度に関する知識(含、アンシラリー サービス・容量市場などのエネルギーサービスビジネス)。
    • ビジネスレベルの英語および日本語能力。
    • MBA or another advanced degree preferred, if any.
    • Data verification based on the big data analytics, power supply-demand forecast, power price forecast, and power generation forecast etc.
    • Experience of the required document filing for licensing etc in connection with Electricity Business Act and other related regulations.
    • Knowledge of software development of related EMS.
    • Experience in customer services management.
    • US/Europe experience and knowledge on the power market.
