About this opportunity:
Freenome is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician to support its rapidly growing operations. You will be responsible for maintaining and scaling the facilities as it continues to expand in personnel, footprint, and scope. You will oversee the daily operations of facilities such as managing and/or completing all maintenance, repairs, and improvements made to Freenome facilities and be the point person for cross-functional interactions with R&D Labs, Supply Chain, and the Clinical Labs operations.
This position will report directly to Director of Facilities.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible in understanding the business and operation to help assist with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and upkeep of building systems
- Managing, prioritizing, and executing facility tickets (workorder)
- Work with vendors to ensure performance of preventative maintenance such as HVAC, UPS, e-Power, utilities, etc.
- Oversee and coordinate for emergency and non emergency daily site services vendors/contractors including electricians, utilities, etc.
- Ability to identify utilities/equipment issues and create a log to share with vendors to show issues and to ensure completion
- Assist with the maintenance of cold storage units
- Respond to emergencies as appropriate during off-hours, holidays, and weekends (being on-call 24/7)
- Provide verbal instructions, read, and interpret operation & maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, engineering sketches, diagrams, and other drawings to ensure timely and error-free completion
- Understand all Fire Life Safety Systems such and coordinate with landlord and building engineers
- Ensure all project and vendor/contractor work being done meets EH&S policies, practices, and procedures
- Ensure our facilities are kept clean and neat at all times
- Collaborate and develop facility procedures for managing projects, and completing projects in safe environment that will ensure EH&S compliance
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities/work order system
- Undertake (self-directed) general site duties: re-lamping fixtures, lubing door hinges, door hardware repairs/adjustments, etc.
- Follow published and accepted safety practices and maintain a clean, safe working environment
- Additional duties and other projects may be assigned as necessary
Must haves:
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in Bio-pharmaceutical, Laboratories/Diagnostic operations, or similar regulated environment (GMP/CLIA)
- Proven working knowledge of GMP facility systems including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, cold storage, safety shower, and fire suppression systems
- Must have the ability to work with hand/power tools safely
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Good people skills with internal customers and external suppliers/vendors
- Must be able to organize, prioritize, and manage time well
- Is well organized and committed to a safe and clean working environment
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- Good general computer skills and familiarity in a Google Suites environment
Nice to haves:
- Certified in hazardous waste management
- IFMA Certification preferred (FMP)
- Master planning of utilities and building assets
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- BOC I
Benefits and additional information:
The US target range of our base salary for new hires is $72,250 - $110,000 . You will also be eligible to receive pre-IPO equity, cash bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits dependent on the position offered. Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company’s sole discretion and may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to, location, skill level, years and depth of relevant experience, and education.
