Essential Duties:
Must be able to operate and demonstrate an expertise with the FEI Dual Beam FIB instruments to clearly image, identify, and characterize semiconductor features.
Should be able to create ultra-thin lamellae and produce high resolution images utilizing the FIB and SEM/STEM.
Candidates should be able to produce detailed reports on a timely basis.
Candidates should be able to provide customers with excellent service and technical advice related to the FIB/SEM/STEM instruments.
Required Skills:
We seek, though do not require, 2+ years of experience as a Dual Beam FIB and SEM/STEM engineer.
An ability to function in a deadline driven environment, completing tasks with minimal supervision.
Detail-oriented analysis of cross sections of resist, dielectrics and metalized nano-structures.
Proven track record of producing high quality images and studies using a FIB and SEM/STEM and a strong and clear technical acumen related to FIB and electron microscopy.
Desired Skills:
Successful candidates should possess a strong background in the fundamental principles of FIB/SEM tooling and technology.
A deep understanding of FEI dual beam systems, capabilities/limitations and understanding of their associated applications.
Candidates should be able to provide technical roadmaps which lead to increased tool capability and performance.
A strong background in semiconductor processes and devices is a plus.
Candidates should have an ability to perform basic tool troubleshooting and interact with maintenance personnel and vendors.
An ability to work with and around potentially hazardous materials and have training in the safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
Required Education:
AS, BS, MS in a technical field plus 2+ year’s direct FIB/SEM/STEM experience.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work safely in laboratory settings including semiconductor processing, device testing, and clean room facilities.
Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Must be able to work flexible hours.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $87,000 - $145,000 + bonus + benefits.
