Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.
The GaN Foundry Manager will help HRL push the state of the art in production of advanced GaN HEMT and MMIC technologies, and will play a critical role in developing HRL’s GaN business strategy and execution.
Essential Duties:
Drive government and commercial customer engagement to grow HRL’s GaN Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) business.
Improve HRL’s GaN marketing outreach.
Help coordinate semiconductor fabrication activities, including full and short loop and other experimental activities, in support of meeting GaN customer deliverables.
Coordinate and help execute advancement of HRL’s GaN process to a Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) of 8.
Work closely with HRL’s GaN change control board (CCB) to improve test and reliability results while minimizing risk.
Work with, and at times lead, cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements in yield and cycle time.
Required Skills:
At least 5 years in a technical leadership role in a microfabrication environment.
At least 5 years of experience with hands-on III-V semiconductor wafer processing. RF GaN preferred.
Direct involvement with, and preferably management of, transitions of R&D process flows into low volume production.
Experience managing project teams and people.
Experience implementing data-driven decisions to improve process flow efficiency and repeatability, and therefore device performance.
Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Desired Skills:
Expertise in six sigma and SPC methods is highly desirable.
Experience with the DoD as a primary customer is desirable.
Required Education:
MS in EE or related field
Formal program management training with PMI certification preferred.
Certifications and other training related to semiconductor processing including statistical process control and 6-sigma
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in a cleanroom environment.
Special Requirements:
US Citizenship Required. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $116,000 - $194,000 + bonus + benefits.
