This role leads a team of hardware and firmware engineers that develop the necessary interfaces, systems, and assist in the integration of our microelectronic technologies. This group is responsible for specialized data capture, cameras, and miniaturized chip fanouts and interfaces for extreme applications. The group has a key role in supporting the integration of new products, contributing to DVT through test and qualification for both internal and external customers. This is a hands on leadership role, responsible for product development, mentoring and fostering the team, instituting best practices, and standardizing processes.
EDUCATION DESIRED
Bachelor’s degree or higher in electronics engineering, electronics computer engineering technology or a closely related discipline.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Design, development activities that include architecture, circuit design analysis and validation. Designs include hardware boards with high-speed I/O, ADCs/DACs, FPGAs, power supplies, and other analog and digital circuits. Strong organization and communication skills are required to define interfaces, simplify operational details, and organize and prioritize work schedules. This role has supervisory responsibilities, responsible for defining and executing on business metrics, and creating and manage schedules, ensuring work quality, and communicating processes and plans to stakeholders.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
•Electrical Engineer with 6 plus years of electrical hardware design experience
•Successful track record of leading a development team or managing a group
•Experience creating workflows, organizing and defining design & development processes such as problem reports, configuration management, design and test reviews.
•Experience in High-speed PCB digital circuit design for SERDES CML, LVDS and DDR memory components
•Experience in Mixed signal PCB circuit design and analysis with emphasis on low-noise
•Strong understanding of firmware development flows, specifically Xilinx FPGA circuit and their interface with peripheral components such as ADCs/DACs/DDR
•Knowledge of low voltage low noise power delivery design for FPGA, ADCs/DACs, and ASICs, signal integrity and power integrity analysis techniques
•Experience with schematic capture, PCB design, signal routing/layer stack-up
•Understanding of the necessary design artifacts such as E&MBOM, DVT, and user manuals.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED
Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout. High Speed PCB signal integrity methods for signals up to 10Gbps. Familiarity with Xilinx FPGA evaluation platforms and VITA 57.1 interfaces. Familiar with programming languages such as Verilog, C, and Matlab. Understanding operation of test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzer. Use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and proficiency in writing reports design presentations. Familiarity with AS9100.

Compensation
The base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000 - $230,000 + bonus + benefits.
