THE COMPANY
Woven by Toyota a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota headquartered in Tokyo, is on a mission to design a happier planet through secure, connected mobility solutions. Arene’s goal is to open vehicle programming to everyone by simplifying vehicle software development and increasing deployment frequency without compromising safety, security and user privacy. This will create a whole new market of vehicle application developers who, through software, integrate a vehicle into our daily lives in novel ways. Arene aims to significantly improve how vehicles are designed and developed, and we’re working closely with Toyota to realize this goal in its next-generation vehicles.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a world class leader who will be responsible for the implementation, the execution and the constant improvement of the quality practices that ensure continuous compliance including safety, security and privacy, and to constantly produce compliance evidence that is then used by the management team to steer the continuous improvement efforts toward total quality.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
・Ensure Arene Product’s technical compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal quality policies;
・Build and manage a team of experts who will be responsible to execute the Arene’s compliance projects;
・Produce and maintain best practices in the various fields of operation (Security, Functional Safety, Privacy, Quality Management System, etc) by partnering with the corresponding counterparts responsible for these domains;
・Act as a mentor to a team of engineering managers, supporting them to constantly enforce engineering practices improvements toward total quality;
・Produce regular compliance reports about statuses, issues and evolution;
・Develop strategies and implementation plans on compliance projects;
・Conduct compliance audits and take this opportunity to instruct people regarding compliance matters;
・Prepare teams regarding formal certifications, manage external auditors logistics;
・Track compliance issues toward resolution.
・Understand customer's requirements for safety, security and quality to adopt Arene in mass production
・Establish and maintain close relationships with customer's compliance departments to represent Arene's compliance qualifications
・Understand regulatory requirements for safety, quality and security for every location which Arene will be deployed
・Establish relationships with government bodies governing vehicle compliance regulations
・Accountable for passing external compliance audits
・Partner with Arene business and product leadership to enable global adoption of Arene by meeting local rules, regulations and standards
・Educate and evangelizes a culture of Compliance within the Arene organization
・Sign off on product compliance before mass production launch

WHAT DO WE NEED?
Successful professionals on our team should be able to demonstrate these skills on a daily basis:

・Excellent English communication and people engagement skills;
・Proficiency in report production, analysis and compliance practices;
・Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in ISO (9001, 25000, 26262, 21434) standards implementation in multi-discipline teams;
・Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks;
・Good Knowledge of quality management systems;
・Experience working in multicultural teams and openness to various cultures;
・Very good knowledge of project & product management practices;
・Very good knowledge of modern software development practices;
・Mindset for ownership, growth, and a bias for progress;
・Deep commitment to quality.

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE
Experience with the following practices, technologies and tools is valued, but not strictly required. We focus on growing as a team and will help each other learn these skills.

・Japanese communication skills;
・Automotive Industry engineering;
・Problems and conflicts resolution;
・Familiarity with modern development processes and tools.

HELPFUL BACKGROUNDS
We know not everyone who could succeed in the Arene team will have a background in vehicles or robotics. We encourage people to apply from a variety of technical backgrounds, including (but not limited to):

・Web and mobile app, Video Games, Simulation, or High Performance Computing;
・Full life-cycle product development: from product-market fit, to production deployment;
・Manufacturing and supply chain management;
・Bilingual English and Japanese communication.
