Fathom is on a mission to use AI to understand and structure the world’s medical data, starting by making sense of the terabytes of clinician notes contained within the electronic health records of the world’s largest health systems. Our deep learning engine automates the translation of patient records into the billing codes used for healthcare provider reimbursement, a process today that costs hospitals in the US $15B+ annually and tens of billions more in errors and denied claims. We are a venture-backed company that completed a Series B round of financing for $46M in late 2022.
Fathom is looking for a Head of People to build the infrastructure to drive and sustain our next phase of growth. This role will report to the CEO and work with executives across functions to ensure our organization’s culture, routines, and activities are tightly aligned in delivering a world-class candidate and teammate experience.
Your role and responsibilities will include:
- Building a world-class people function to support recruitment, candidate experience, and team member experience as we grow our global team from 35 to 80 by end of year
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the people team including our recruiting team
- Overseeing compliance, immigration, off-boarding, compensation and benefits, equity, diversity and inclusion, HR systems, and technology across the company
- Collaborating with the CEO to refine, articulate, and sustain Fathom’s culture and values
- Running people data and analytics to ensure data-driven decision-making at all times, incorporating qualitative and quantitative feedback from engagement surveys, 1:1s, and more into creating effective and empathetic people programs
- Working with our Events Lead to ensure equitability and consistency in the design and implementation of simple and enjoyable people experiences, across the key pillars of compensation, benefits, performance management, and more
- Delivering and driving a unified and best-in-class global people strategy, aligning Fathom functions and goals
- Co-operating with executives across functions to develop operating cadence(s) and programs, such as OKRs, that support organization goals
- Joining forces with our Head of Growth on talent marketing and employer branding
We are looking for a teammate with:

- A track record of personal excellence
- Experience hiring and managing teams and vendors
- High emotional intelligence and excellent judgment
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment across time zones
- Creative ideas on how to build high-performance teams across time zones, cultures, and work environments
Bonus points if you have:
- Experienced first-hand a team scaling from under 50 to over 200
- An MBA or experience in management consulting
- Participated in recruitment programs
- Prior experience designing leveling and compensation programs
Salary range:
- $170 000 - $225 000 USD
