Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art.
Essential Duties:
Perform cutting edge R&D along with staff scientists for next generation of quantum-optical atomic and solid-state devices. Design, model, setup, and test of free-space and/fiber optic experiments. Perform measurements, interface with fabrication engineers, collect and summarize data, present and discuss data with other scientists. Must be able to work well in a dynamic team environment and possess excellent communication skills.
Required Skills:
Laboratory experience in one or more of the following areas: lasers, fiber and free-space optics, silicon microfabrication, RF engineering, ultra-high vacuum equipment, Fabry Perot or high-finesse cavities. Use and programming of laboratory equipment such as optical sources and detectors, optical spectrum analyzers, wavemeters, VNAs, programmable DAQ’s, high speed oscilloscopes, lock-in amplifiers.
Required Education:
Bachelors in Physics, Applied Physics, EE or related fields
Physical Requirements:
Strong communication (verbal and written) skills, active participation in R&D team activities, work in a laboratory environment. Able and willing to occasionally travel.
Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $87,000 - $145,000 + bonus + benefits.
