We are seeking a proactive and detail oriented Manager, FP&A to join our emerging team. Reporting to the Senior Director, FP&A, this position will play a crucial role in developing the annual budget and long range plan, driving reporting with our collaboration partners, and implementing system and process improvements within FP&A. You will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact as you partner across the organization to ensure financial stewardship. This role will be based in Emeryville, CA .
How you’ll contribute:
- Manage FP&A responsibilities in support of the organization and leadership, including planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities, monthly close support, and variance analyses
- Assist Sr Director of FP&A in development of the Long Range Plan (LRP), annual budget and periodic forecast updates (Latest Estimate/LE)
- Partner with project management and department heads to ensure consistency between project goals, timelines, and financial plans
- Create monthly reports for Departments heads around their performance and variance to plan.
- Develop budgets, actual reports, and quarterly invoices for our collaboration business partners.
- Assist in implementing an FP&A reporting tool and FTE time recording system to automate and consolidate reporting across the business.
- Conduct ad hoc financial modeling to support tactical and strategic decision making as needed
- Manage CapEx budget process and data collection across the organization
- Take an active role in the broader finance team helping with smooth implementation of new finance requirements, systems, and processes.
What you’ll bring:
- Undergraduate degree, Finance, Economics or a closely related discipline, advanced degree preferred
- At least five years of biopharma finance experience
- Experience with financial planning and ERP systems, bonus for experience with system implementation
- Successful track record leading financial processes, systems, and analytics, Microsoft Excel modeling skills
- Strong knowledge and experience with accounting principles, financial analysis, and problem solving
- Highly collaborative, solutions oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment
- High attention to detail and solid organizational skills with excellent ability to communicate both visually and verbally
- Driven to success and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done well in a highly dynamic environment.
The anticipated base salary range for this position will be $155,000 - $169,100 depending on the exact level of the role. As this role is open to candidates with a wide range of skills and experience, the exact salary will be dependent on the specific level of the position.
