Salary Range: Your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $132,000 - $188,325 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.

    • Design and launch the self-driving sensor suites onto WeRide's vehicle platforms.
    • Balance requirements from multiple stakeholders: industrial designers, sensor engineers, vehicle architects and software teams.
    • Build and troubleshoot prototypes, analyze results of reliability testing, improve the design, and bring to production.
    • Drive individual part design from concept to production. Support quality engineers and process engineers throughout the validation and production process of your assemblies.
    • Create and publish detailed 3D model and 2D drawings, search out and select materials, components, and sub-systems for the products. Maintain BOMs and design documents.
    • Design for function, reliability, human factors, manufacturing, and cosmetic requirements.
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or equivalent.
    • 3 years of experience with detailed part and product design or automotive experience.
    • Hands-on experience with CAD tools (Solidworks preferred) and mechanical simulation tools.
    • Experience with injection-molded, CNC, rapid prototyping and sheet metal parts.
    • Experience building products and assemblies through their entire lifecycle, from initial concept to production.
    • Motivated, self-driven and independent.
    • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design.
    • Experience in consumer product development or automotive industry preferred.
    • Knowledge of Self-driving vehicles and sensors preferred.
    • Ability to make data-driven selections with excellent cross-functional collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
