Develop mechanical CAD designs, GD&T, and drawings of complex electro-mechanical parts and assemblies.
Manage product structure definitions, BOMs, and hardware configurations.
Perform mechanical analyses (e.g. thermal, structural) to ensure designs meet requirements.
Lead design reviews, and validate designs from other team members.
Support integration and test efforts for hardware validation.
Provide oversight and mentoring to junior engineers.
Develop processes and guidelines for mechanical designers.
Support team members in defining project scope and reporting status.
Summarize design efforts in written documents and oral presentations.

At least 8 years of experience (or 6 years of experience with a MS degree) in Aerospace, Automotive, or Consumer Electronics design in a lead or REA role.
Mechanical drafting and GD&T for complex parts and assemblies.
Ability to lead small to medium multidisciplinary teams in product-focused environments.
Working knowledge of heat transfer and structural dynamics as applied to integrated mechanical and electrical systems.
Experience informing design decisions from ambiguous variables.
Sound knowledge of CAD design tools (e.g. Solidworks, CREO), product lifecycle management tools (e.g. Enovia, Teamcenter), finite element methods (e.g. Ansys, Abaqus), and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Matlab).
Capable of defining project scopes, drafting schedules (e.g. MS Project, Primavera), and budgeting for multidisciplinary efforts.
Ability to work well in a creative team environment and possess excellent communication skills.
Creative problem solving and strong organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills; includes both oral and written.
Ability to work well in a team and willingness to mentor others.
Must be able to perform tasks safely in a lab environment.
