Lab/Position Summary:
MPI Lab is looking for a senior architect to define next-generation camera system and chip-level Silicon hardware IP to accelerate new and advanced imaging technology and user experience differentiations in Samsung’s Galaxy mobile platforms. As the lead HW IP architect, you will be responsible for research and definition of differentiated HW IP architecture solutions with best-in-class image/video quality and power-performance trade-offs and efficient integration of HW IP technologies into target AP SoC or its subsystem for Samsung’s cutting-edge mobile devices. This includes development for both current and future mobile platforms. Specific experience in HW IP/SoC architecture and development technology in areas of mobile camera applications, as well as collaborative R&D experience in multi-regional/multi-site engineering operation is necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Architect innovative HW (Silicon) IP architecture and prototypes for various mobile AP’s supported by Samsung and own IP architecture specification and IP integration specification
- Develop use-case analysis document for mobile camera application where the target HW IP is utilized
- Successfully collaborate with various internal R&D groups in exploring technical requirements and develop solutions to challenging engineering problems for next-generation mobile vision applications
- Lead relationship with IP suppliers and tool partners to identify and source leading-edge IP technologies for Samsung’s mobile platforms
- Collaborate/drive RTL design team
Qualifications :
- M.S/Ph.D. preferred in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 5-20 years of relevant experience in Application Processor SoC, camera subsystem, and component IP development for mobile applications
- Deep understanding of Application Processors and mobile industry and related technical trends in mobile camera
- Hands-on experience with flow, tools, and methodologies for prototyping, simulating, developing IP solutions for use in SoC
- Good experience with SoC development flow
- Hands- on experience in producing architecture/ design specification and handling SoC integration requirements
- Strong communication skills for effective interactions with R&D management as well as peer groups and team members
Necessary Skills/Attributes
- Familiarity with multimedia (camera) domain technologies for mobile Application processors
- Experience with smartphone and other mobile product development
- Familiarity with NPU, GPU, DSP and programmable vector processor architecture
- Have experience in customer and technology partner engagement
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally
