About the Team The Human Data Team is focused on empowering AI teachers to train OpenAI’s models to solve complex problems in order to provide value to humanity. We believe that Expert AI teachers are the key to unlocking the potential of our models to be as accurate and helpful as experts. We are building a system that uses experts’ guidance to teach our models how to understand difficult questions and execute complex instructions. This will foster collaboration between AI and humans that aligns with our shared vision and values. Examples of work we’ve contributed to in the past include ChatGPT , instruction-following models , and DALL·E 2 . About the Role We train AI toward general intelligence. Our ability to train increasingly capable and safe models depends on our ability to collect high-quality data, as well as combine data and compute with human supervision to align the models towards desired behaviors. The process of aligning AI requires supervision from many humans, including experts. As an Operations Specialist, you will: Work closely with external vendors and internal researchers to collect, QA, and deliver high-quality data Use internal tooling to QA labeled data and provide feedback to other AI trainers Provide feedback for tool improvement to improve throughput and quality Partner with cross-functional teams to start up new data collection projects by gathering requirements, writing instructions and training AI trainers This is a contingent position, based in our San Francisco HQ. We do not offer relocation assistance for this position. The pay for this role is $40-80/hour, up to 40 hours per week. Benefit options will be available including health insurance and 401K. We are targeting to onboard team members through February and March.
