Essential Duties:
This position reports to the Director of Security and will manage a team of professionals across multiple sites. Candidate will provide support in both emergency operations and physical security of the facility. Candidate will lead in emergency preparedness, education, evacuations, and emergency response. They will create emergency action plans, emergency response plans, and guard post orders. They will also lead with inspecting fire protection equipment and checking for other system/equipment irregularities. Review architectural and engineering drawings for plant protection systems. Manage visitor entry, process and file security information, conduct safety/security briefings, and work closely with the guard staff. Will have a basic knowledge of export laws and work closely with HRL’s Trade compliance department. Candidate needs to be able to handle complex tasks and work under pressure. Candidates will also train and mentor junior positions. This position offers great opportunity for growth and development.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 7 years working in an emergency operations position. Prior experience working in support of both emergency operations and security operations is desired but not required. Firefighting/EMT experience strongly desired. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully interact with internal/external customers across organizational levels. Experience working in an Emergency Operations Center is desired. Experience with managing complex projects.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Working knowledge of the National Incident Management System Incident Command System required. Ability to write statement of works and read/review architectural and engineering drawings. Ability to build instructional safety training programs and lecture large groups in such programs. Ability to update/maintain SharePoint desired but not required.
Required Education:
Bachelor degree with 7+ years of experience or 10+ years of related work experience.
Physical Requirements:
Candidate must be able to operate fire extinguishers and fire hose lines. Must be capable of working under demanding/stressful conditions and be able to take command of emergency situations.
Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance required. Be certified in First Aid, CPR, AED, and HAZMAT.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $70,200 - $117,000 + bonus + benefits.
