We are building a technology platform that allows all investors, regardless of age, net worth, or geography, to access personalized, automated, and intelligent investments across all asset classes. As a critical member to the Portfolio Implementation team, this role is responsible for supervision of our portfolios and trade recommendations. Partnering with the Investment Strategy and Quantitative Engineering teams, you will work to build investment analytics and fine tune Vise’s custom optimizer. You will be responsible for producing notes, feedback and additional analytics to support the development of our investment strategies. Vise’s trading process is execution focused as we function as an asset manager. You will work closely with software engineers to build out and systematize our trading operations as we scale for growth, drawing on your knowledge of enterprise trading systems.

What you will own

  • Trading support and review
    • Support trading process by reviewing orders and providing quality assurance
    • Review and monitor optimization behavior
    • Assist in submitting trades in an auxiliary capacity
    • Execute trading related tasks, including placing orders, reconciliation, managing trading exceptions
    • Identification and remedy issues with execution of trades and data
  • Portfolio management and oversight
    • Maintain current client knowledge and serve as a point of contact for trading and portfolio execution
    • Refine Vise’s investment strategies and product features
    • Review and monitor factor based and systematic strategies
    • Support the build, maintenance and oversight of the entire pipeline from market data ingestion, signal/factor calculations, target models/portfolio construction, optimized trades and reporting
    • Partner with product and engineering teams to move projects from concept to production; whether features on the platform or internal proprietary tools
    • Become an expert on the Vise platform and write documentation around its functions
  • Portfolio analytics development
    • Design new and enhance existing portfolio attribution analysis tools
    • Improve / evolve the next iteration of portfolio comparison reports
    • Auto generate exhibits to explain the portfolio, each rebalance, performance, and the implications of different portfolio choices

What you will bring on Day 1

  • Understanding of the different components to an enterprise level trading system such as OMS/EMS platforms, trading reconciliation, TCA, broker/dealer relationships
  • Strong understanding of financial markets – primarily equity and asset allocation related strategies
  • Data-driven mindset: Experienced in running analysis via Python / SQL or data driven languages to produce reports, analytics, and research.
    • Producing data ‘on the desk’ for internal and external analysis
    • Prototyping features for the engineering teams to build into production
    • Research oriented curiosity is a must; desire to empirically test everything
  • Experience in asset management, with a focus on portfolio management or research in at least one or more of the following areas:
    • Systematic portfolio management
    • Factor Based Equity investing
    • Trading system development
    • Direct Indexing and Custom SMAs
    • Tuning and developing custom trade builder/rebalancer or portfolio optimization tools
  • Able to switch contexts quickly in fast-paced environment
  • Team focused mindset, eager to collaborate with others to solve problems
  • BS Engineering/Finance/Economics or higher degree

Through the internal and market data Vise has collected, we expect the salary range for this position to be $120,000  - $180,000 per year, plus a competitive equity package.
