Essential Duties:
- Research and development of new complex measurement and characterization techniques.
- Build and develop new test beds and methods for scientific measurements.
- Collect and analyze measurement data manually, or produce methods for automated data collection.
- Be a leader and mentor to other junior test engineers and scientists.
- Work with other scientist and design engineers to develop test strategies and measurement techniques.
- Must be comfortable working in a research laboratory environment.
- Able to work on multiple projects and interact with multiple project leads.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with developing complex scientific test beds and using complex measurement and characterization methods.
- Strong experience with high-frequency RF/microwave components and measurement techniques.
- Understanding of RF design practices such as controlled impedance transmission lines, crosstalk minimization, signal integrity, and power integrity.
- Knowledge of EM and time-domain simulation software such Spice, HSS, or ADS.
- Understanding of advanced high density multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs), ceramic substrates, and single and multi-chip packages.
- Experience using a wide variety of measurement equipment such as High-Speed Oscilloscopes, VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, Time Domain Reflectometry TDR, Semiconductor Analyzers, Function/Waveform Generators, etc.
- Experience with the latest test equipment and most advanced measurement methods.
- Knowledge of analog/mixed-signal/digital circuits and semiconductor device physics.
- Good understanding of coding languages such as Matlab, Labview, Python, C, C++, etc.
- Able to multi task among different projects.
Required Education:
- 10+ years of experience in measurement and development of test beds.
- Bachelor, Master’s, or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related scientific discipline.
Special Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Active SSBI is a plus.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 - $200,000 + bonus + benefits.
