Research Assistant Chemical Handler

General Description:
Chemical Handler Responsibilities: Support all chemical needs for the cleanroom and outside MTL Labs.
Drain and refill solvents, photo resist on PM schedule.   Assignment = 1) Collect and record VOC emission data 2) Stock the cleanroom with requested and stock chemicals 3) Manage FIFO 4) Remove expired chemicals in a timely manner 5) Manage Chemicals and Precursors Inventory.

Essential Duties:
Responsible for maintaining supply and chemical stock in a ISO 4 clean room (order chemicals to support manufacturing requirements, verify and refill inventory, manage chemical and clean room supply deliveries, manage and stock cleanroom supplies, etc.).  Perform and maintain daily chemical usage database and reporting.  Follow all safety regulations for chemical and gas handling and storage.  Work will require individual to be in the clean room on a daily basis.
Develop the ability to interact with co-workers, engineering staff and equipment vendors in a team oriented environment. Good communication skills are essential. Work with vacuum and pressure systems. Work safely around acids, solvents, toxic and potentially hazardous gases. Work in a ISO 4 Cleanroom.

Required Skills:
Prior experience working with chemicals, both transport and handling/mixing/pouring/maintenance.  Will train for entry level position.  Experience on an Emergency Response Team and respirator training a plus.  Experience working in a class ISO 4 clean room a plus.  Math, computer and database skills using Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Must be an organized, detail oriented individual.  If possible, understanding of safety and governmental requirements for chemicals in semiconductor manufacturing and quality control requirements.

Required Education:
Requires High School Education.  Prefer technical training and/or experience related to chemical handling, but will train the right entry-level candidate.  Chemical and gas inventory and control in a ISO 4 semiconductor clean room.

Physical Requirements:
Working within a ISO 4 cleanroom environment. Must be able to work safely around toxic & potentially hazardous materials, gases and chemicals. Must be sufficiently mobile to work within confined spaces and have both visual and hearing acuity. Good hand eye coordination. Respirator capable desired. Heavy lifting required.

Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required. Able to work flexible hours.  Must be self-starter and work with little supervision. Be a strong team player.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $27 - 47 an hour + bonus + benefits.
