As a Robot Data Collection Engineer, you will be working with Researchers, Engineers and Technicians to conduct accurate and efficient data collection across multiple research programs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of skills and behaviors on robotic hardware and also organizing data generated. This position requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    • Utilize specialized software, prebuilt programs and tools to collect high quality data generated by robots during operation.
    • Execute closed and open-loop policies on robotic hardware according to predefined plans.  Monitor and record execution outcomes using comprehensive logs to facilitate analysis and evaluation.
    • Collaborate with the development team to identify and address any issues that may arise during hardware verification.
    • Maintain a proactive approach to detect significant performance deterioration during execution and promptly notify the team.
    • Work with a variety of robotic platforms, including Boston Dynamics Spot, Kuka LBR iiwa robot, and the Franka Emika FR3 robot arm.
    • BS/MS in computer science, robotics, or a related technical field.
    • Experience with programming languages such as Python or C++.
    • Proficiency with Linux operating systems, including command-line interfaces and shell scripting.
    • Experience configuring and troubleshooting networking, software and hardware issues.
    • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the development team and report findings.

    • Familiarity with ROS, docker containers, Motion Capture Systems
    • Familiarity with Reinforcement Learning, Policy training
    • Familiarity with CAD and 3D printing
    • Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques, such as statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
