We are seeking a motivated and driven Scientist to focus on developing mRNA optimization workflows supporting both our editing platform development teams and pre-clinical therapeutic programs. Experience with mRNA handling and synthesis, as well as chemical modifications of RNA would be an advantage.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact, as you partner with our in vivo Delivery Team, to bring the next generation of nucleic acid-based therapies to patients. This role will be based in Emeryville California.
How you'll contribute
Oversee development of mRNA optimization for next-generation gene editing systems
Collaborate across multiple departments to develop assays for characterizing the potency and delivery of Metagenomi editing systems
Independently troubleshoot technical issues, as needed
Analyze and interpret experimental data and present results at team and companywide meetings
Prepare accurate and timely data summaries and contribute to writing of reports, papers, and patent manuscripts
What you bring
Ph.D. in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline
Experience with cloning, in vitro transcription, and primary cell culture required (primary hepatocyte preferred)
Track record of challenging oneself to enhance scientific skills and knowledge
Ability to efficiently manage time and workflow
Ability to work independently as well as with multiple results-oriented teams
Preferred additional qualifications: •
Experience with automated 96-well plasmid preps and DNA/RNA purification techniques
Experience performing experiments in a variety of animal models
Experience with gene editing and/or mRNA-based therapeutics, and NGS analysis
The anticipated base salary range for this position will be $115,000 to $130,000 depending on the exact level of the role. As this role is open to candidates with a wide range of skills and experience, the exact salary will be dependent on the specific level of the position.
