We are looking to hire a very experienced Android Developer motivated by the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge Voice AI products. You will work on our SoundHound Chat AI app, which combines generative AI with our best-in-class speech recognition and natural language understanding technologies. You'll also contribute to our SoundHound for Automotive product and have the satisfaction of knowing that some of the biggest automakers are shipping their cars with your work.
This opening is available for remote work anywhere in Canada. Toronto-based employees are able to take advantage of in-person collaboration at our downtown office. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive equity and benefits.
In this role, you will:
- Drive Android development for our SoundHound Chat AI and SoundHound for Automotive products
- Ship high-quality products on time
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams
- Work autonomously while shouldering lots of responsibility as our sole Android developer
- Transform concepts and specifications into reality
- Use the latest processes and tools in software development to both craft solutions and track progress
- Provide keen insight into product features and what users want
We would love to hear from you if:
- You possess a Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent
- You have primarily worked as an Android Developer for 7 or more years
- You have worked on and contributed to large parts of popular Android apps (millions of users)
- You have published an app, either individually or as part of a team, that is live on the Google Play Store
- You are fully proficient in written and spoken English
- You have deep knowledge of Android, Java, and Kotlin programming
- You are knowledgeable in object-oriented designs and patterns
- You have experience with server-side, API-driven development
- You have experience with one or more of the following: low latency audio, low latency networking, performance analysis, third-party SDK's
We’d be incredibly excited if you have worked on Android Automotive, have experience with Android library development, and have contributed to open-source Android projects.
