The Senior Content Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of a holistic content strategy to improve our thought leadership, business results, and presence in the market.  You'll work with marketing and other cross-functional colleagues, including growth, sales, and product, to ensure we are telling the right stories in the right formats across paid, owned, and earned campaigns throughout the buyer's journey.
This is a unique opportunity to join an exciting and innovative startup, build our content library, and create an integrated purpose-built content strategy playbook. This role will report to the Director of Product Marketing.

This position is required to work out of the San Jose office three days per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

The base pay range for this role is $115,000 to $135,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.

    • Develop content strategy e.g. pillar strategy, core content ownership areas
    • Lead all content marketing initiatives which includes: creating and managing the content calendar; and driving desired brand perception, traffic, and leads from content marketing
    • Plan, develop, and implement insight-driven, high-value thought leadership content strategy, including thought leadership blogs, whitepapers, ebooks, customer case studies, video scripts, and datasheets
    • Understand the challenges faced by each buyer persona; use this to create targeted content campaigns addressing and solving these challenges
    • Gain customer understanding to determine who we should target for content marketing and understand pain points and topics to write content about
    • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to both identify and leverage content across paid and owned marketing channels to drive awareness and growth
    • Own SEM/SEO and email marketing initiatives
    • Work closely with Product, Customer Success, and Marketing partners to identify relevant topics, customer stories, and timely content themes
    • Edit, proofread, and improve all customer-facing assets
    • Independently plan content strategy as well as write hands-on, with minimal supervision - but in complete alignment with GTM team leadership
    • Measure and analyze content-related metrics on a regular basis and factor results into future content recommendations and development
    • Partner with customers and partners to understand how they use the products to create compelling case studies and testimonials
    • Quick to onboard oneself to become an expert in accounts payable/expense auditing and AppZen’s solution that addresses finance operations teams' challenges
    • Demonstrates strong collaboration, decision-making, and communication skills
    • Results-oriented and self-motivated, able to think strategically and execute tactically
    • Proven track record in B2B marketing, preferably in technology or SAAS industries
    • Possesses strong analytical, process, project management, verbal, written and presentation skills
    • Can effectively communicate value propositions and drive initiatives across diverse audiences
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in content marketing
