About Us
We are a next-gen cybernetics start-up backed by top-tier investors ( Our seed round led by NEA ).
Our work focuses on the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and simulation. We aim to push the boundaries of what intelligent systems are capable of. We’re interested both in cases of autonomous operation, and in cases of human-collaborative operation. Our organization operates at the frontier of human capabilities, working actively to advance them and meaningfully improve the state of robotics and human society at large.
About the Role
As a Senior Research Scientist at Neo Cybernetica, you will own creating a scalable SLAM implementation as well as the integration and architecture of DSGs with the broader world modeling team. Your responsibilities will also include driving improvements to visual odometry and trajectory estimation (higher quality 3D mapping, accuracy in trajectory estimation, scalability to large-scale maps with a very large number of nodes, etc.).
In this role, you will work very closely with various highly skilled researchers and engineers in a unique team where your skills and expertise will make an impact on building something groundbreaking.
About You
You are a proactive and thorough engineer passionate about staying up to date with the latest technologies and research papers. You spend your spare time scrolling through arxiv only because you find the papers fascinating and look forward to a role that will allow you to apply these skills in the real world.
You are comfortable with taking the lead in a group situation and driving technical consensus between several stakeholders and love getting to the bottom of things and coming up with phenomenal solutions.
Your Technical and Professional Expertise
- Masters or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence
- Hands-on research/application experience in one/multiple SLAM tasks: Localization, trajectory estimation, 3d mapping and mesh reconstruction, DSGs, etc.
- Experience with real-time SLAM tasks, ideally operating on top of edge devices, potentially with a base station or remote server.
- 3-5 published and presented at conferences papers in SLAM and SLAM adjacent research areas (i.e. ICLR, ICML, IROS, ICRA)
- Familiarity with modern machine learning environments such as Pytorch
- Excellent Python programming skills, having experience with C++, CUDA is a big plus.
What Will Make You Standout
- Specific background with DSGs
- Experience with neuromorphic sensors
- Experience with project architecture and leading teams
- Specific background in SLAM for autonomous vehicles, drones, other land vehicles, and/or industry robotics
- Experience with industrial/enterprise scale SLAM applications and the knowledge required to scale SLAM implementations beyond proofs of concept
