Essential Duties:
Contribute technical expertise and work within a fast-paced team of scientists and engineers on the development of next generation RF/mmW Phased-Array Radar Imaging and Communication Systems. The research staff member will be responsible for the design, fabrication, and testing of RF, digital, and power subsystems for integrated RF and mmW modules. Job functions will include PCB layout and module assembly including thermal and mechanical design considerations. Additional job functions involve contributing to internal and US government proposal and marketing activities, briefing program progress to customers, publishing papers, writing invention disclosures and attending scientific meetings.
Required Skills:
Hands-on experience developing phased-arrays as well as radar, communication, and computing systems
Experience with RF & mmW PCB development, layout, and testing
Candidates should possess a proven track record of developing novel and successful solutions to complex technical issues
Experience with US government proposal and marketing activities
Strong knowledge of RF systems and electromagnetic (EM) analysis is required
Knowledge of conventional and advanced microelectronic packaging/integration and thermal management are desired
Knowledge of high frequency and RF simulation tools (e.g. ADS, MWO, Cadence) and electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g. HFSS, CST, FEKO) is required. Knowledge of multi-physics simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS, COMSOL) is desired.
Familiarity with digital, mixed-signal, power and signal integrity
Knowledge of system engineering, program and project management is a plus
Required Education:
Ph.D. in Electrical, Materials, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering or M.S. with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Physical Requirements:
Proficiency in use of computers, engineering work stations, complex electronic equipment, oral and written communication, interaction with vendors/colleagues and willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work well in a team and independently. Ability and willingness to travel 20% of time. Must be sufficiently mobile to work within confined spaces and have both visual and hearing acuity.
Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000 - $230,000 + bonus + benefits.
