As a Senior Security Operations Engineer at Jasper, you’ll report to the Director of Information Security. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of our digital systems, customer data, and responding to any incidents that may arise . As a member of the security team, it is essential to foster strong and resilient connections with business leaders to maintain a secure environment.
The role is open to candidates located in the US and can be remote within the United States . We have offices in Austin, TX and Salt Lake City, UT with employees based across the US and Australia. We've built a strong foundation to support remote employee engagement with other teams. What you will do at Jasper
- Implement and manage incident response protocols to ensure quick identification and resolution of security issues.
- Conduct proactive threat hunting exercises to identify potential security threats and risks.
- Innovate novel attack and defense methods for AI systems.
- Lead investigations into security incidents to identify root causes and take appropriate actions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary security measures.
- Develop and maintain security documentation and procedures to enhance incident response and threat hunting capabilities.
- Stay up to date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.
What you will bring to Jasper
- 3-5 years experience in incident response and threat hunting, with demonstrated expertise in security principles.
- Experience with compliance standards such as SOC2, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.
- Demonstrated experience securing cloud systems, GCP experience a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of security protocols, standards and controls. (NIST, CIS, etc.)
- Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and cybersecurity incident response platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of Splunk or similar SIEM tools, including the ability to manage the environment, create dashboards, and alerting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, and GCIH are a plus.

Compensation Range
At Jasper, we believe in pay transparency and are committed to providing our employees and candidates with access to information about our compensation practices. The expected base salary range at offer for this role is $170,000- $200,000. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, competencies and certifications.
