About the role:

Be a founding member of the Skydio India engineering team and be a core part of Skydio’s expansion into India!  As a software engineer at Skydio India , you will be responsible for the development and delivery of Skydio products for the Indian Military.  This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be on the forefront of Skydio’s expansion into the Indian market and grow with the success of the product.  You will develop on Skydio’s leading edge products, localizing and delivering features of critical importance to the Indian Military.

Skydio is the world leader in autonomous flight.  When a drone understands its surroundings, it can operate autonomously, allowing any user to be successful with drone operations with minimal training. We're looking for a software engineer who is excited to help design, develop, and deliver drone command and control software and bring this product to the Indian Military.


How you'll make an impact:

  • Quickly develop and deliver high quality software applications that will be used in the most critical of situations
  • Adapt Skydio products for the unique needs of the Indian market and India military
  • Localize Skydio products into Hindi and deliver a world class experience for Indian users
  • Help bootstrap the Skydio India engineering team by establishing best practices and high quality development environment
  • Design advanced user interfaces for drone control with polished and consistent user experience
  • Apply your knowledge of the ins and outs of the ecosystem and leverage the unique Android APIs
  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, internal testing, and your own experiences piloting

What makes you a good fit:

  • You are excited about robotics and have working experience with drones and building combined hardware/software systems
  • You are comfortable working alongside the Android ecosystem (Java, Android Studio, Gradle, adb, AndroidX libraries) and using Linux
  • You love writing clean React, Typescript, Kotlin and/or Python
  • Must have experience working on UI components for web and/or mobile devices
  • You know how to create tools and automate your workflow with Python scripts.
  • You are able to use Android Studio and logs to analyze and debug defects and crashes
