Who you are:

At Dataminr, the members of our Solutions Engineering team are highly valued cross-functional business partners that play a critical role in our sales process every single day. As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will be one of the most important members of the Dataminr sales team serving as a trusted advisor to Account Executives, Sales Specialists and our current and future customers. A security-focused technical liaison and subject matter expert on all things Dataminr, you will get to develop and share compelling stories that will excite your customers and have them eager to hear more. These may include product demonstrations, white-boarding sessions, mini-trainings, Proof-of-Concepts, Production Evaluations, all in pursuit of providing a solution to your customer that you will take pride in being a part of. You will primarily collaborate with our growing sales and customer success teams to provide technical expertise to our customers and prospects through a scalable and repeatable model that increases credibility, value, and establishes Dataminr as a trusted partner.

Your impact:

  • Business Problem Solving: Take ambiguous and complex security problems, and using research and critical analysis/assessment capabilities drive ideas, define the opportunities, and recommend actionable next steps.
  • Innovation Management: Apply value-added rigor to a customer’s decision making process by presenting and evaluating the Dataminr solution while concurrently driving consensus among key stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional Integration: Assist the customer, as well as our account and customer success teams with the discovery, analysis, and ultimately the recommendation of strategic solutions. You will deliver live product demonstrations to validate the differentiated value of Dataminr and quantify the business impact of our solutions.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Security Solutions Engineer is the technical lead for the Dataminr Pre-Sales process, including:

  • Developing tailored presentations and demonstrations of Dataminr’s solution to articulate use cases and value to customers and prospects
  • Collaborating closely with the Post-Sales Customer Success organization to support solution design, POCs for expansion efforts, integrations, and related implementations with a cybersecurity focus.
  • Participating in selling the value of Dataminr through recorded presentations, live online, and in-person product demonstrations
  • Helping to uncover the business impact of the Dataminr solution value to a customer in both quantitative and qualitative ways; support customer proof of concept (POC) efforts, ensuring that they are engaging with the solution and validate the resulting solution
  • Articulating and educating internal/external audiences on technical and solution design concepts
  • Helping develop the business case for Dataminr value for specific customers, building upon the proof of value (demo/POC) results
  • You may, occasionally, be called upon to assist in professional services deployments, technical training, and to present at or attend industry seminars and/or trade shows
  • You will be able to provide valuable customer insight and real-world experiences to our Product and Marketing teams.
  • Mentoring new team members in multiple areas including sales process, and relationship management with both customers and our internal sales organization
  • Developing and delivering training presentations to peers, account executives, and other teams within Dataminr
    • Contribute across all communication channels, write and help upkeep internal documentation and training
    • Help develop solutions to common challenges and establish processes within the local team, department, and across the sales engineering organization

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years of hands-on technical experience, either as a Solutions/Sales/Systems Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Security Engineer or senior level product support  in the cybersecurity industry
  • Experience working with large (Enterprise) clients/organizations
  • History of conducting large-scale assessments and/or evaluations, including managing expectations, deliverables, and complex systems as well as the teams that support them
  • Comfortable presenting to individuals and/or teams including technical staff through C-suite
  • Broad understanding of Cyber Threat Intelligence
  • Experience in Enterprise or Cloud Security, including cloud/SaaS platforms, data/information protection, network, endpoint, NOC/SOC, or MSP-related cybersecurity
  • Experience with frameworks such as MITRE and/or NIST
  • CISSP or other relevant cyber-security and/or cloud security certifications are valued
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience are also highly desired

California, New York, Washington and Colorado only : The salary range for this position is as indicated below.  Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience, among other factors.

Colorado : $112,500 - $144,000 USD

California/New York/Washington : $125,000 - $160,000 USD
