Job Description
As our Senior System Engineer, you will support and help architect Shield AI's enterprise architecture in our classified space.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing classified systems and networks to include system hardening and accreditation support. Experience with enterprise networking, virtualization, storage, building solutions to deploy in on-premises and in Azure Gov Cloud environments. The candidate should be comfortable working in highly secure and fast paced environments.

Salary Range:  Base + Bonus + Benefits + Equity (if applicable)
Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. Information on the benefits offered is here. All offers are contingent on a cleared background check.

Location guidelines-
Onsite = 5 days/week
Hybrid = Several days in the office
Remote = Remote but able to come to the office as requested for business needs

    • Initial scoping, installation, and configuration of infrastructure in a new classified facility.
    • Infra 2.0 - Architecture and Deployment of enterprise architecture and systems supporting Shield AI’s global enterprise.
    • GPU Workload Virtualization - Architecting and deploying scalable virtualized servers to accelerate machine learning and AI projects supporting Shield AI’s engineering.
    • IaaS Infrastructure Automation: Creating secure virtual systems and software defined networks to support on-demand compute needs for engineers and developers.
    • Must have an Active Top Secret security clearance and be DoD 8570 certified (CompTIA Sec+)  or ability to obtain
    • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
    • Experience operating in a secure or classified environment
    • Networking basics
    • Hardening experience: STIGs + SCAP. These are requirements for workstations and networking gear
    • Experience implementing RMF controls
    • Linux experience
    • Vulnerability remediation/Patching
    • Containerization experience (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift)
    • Experience with security best practices and ensuring multi-site compliance for infrastructure
    • Experience with Kubernetes on bare metal and VMware vSphere
    • Experience ensuring compliance and audit preparation evidence, as well as presenting with auditors
    • Experience with Azure Commercial, Azure Gov cloud, or AWS Gov Cloud environments
    • Configuring and deploying a SIEM
    • Configuring and managing backups
    • Configure, deploying and managing AV solution
    • Linux expertise
    • Configuring/loading DoD cryptographic devices
    • Experience with Automation and Scripting (PowerShell, Ansible, Chef, Terraform, etc.)
    • Active Directory experience
