We are seeking a passionate, organized and action oriented individual to join our IT team as Sr. Manager, Lab Informatics Solutions. Reporting to the Head of IT, this position will play a crucial role in building a digital lab infrastructure and will work across scientific and IT domains to establish lab informatics solution landscape and cloud based lab data environment. This role will be based in Emeryville, CA.
How you’ll contribute:
- Own the design, implementation, adoption, and maintenance of ELN/LIMS systems
- Collaborate with functional teams to create templates and system configurations that align with scientific workflows and enable data capture into lab solutions and platforms
- Collaborate with scientists to establish data standards and data models
- Establish and maintain a process map of lab data acquisition and flow
- Collaborate with other IT team members to architect and manage a secure, efficient and scalable lab informatics infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and ensure that lab informatics solution and platforms meet those requirements
- Manager relationships with external vendors and partners
- Develop and manage budgets and timelines for lab informatics projects
What you bring:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Master degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in the life sciences industry and 3 years in lab informatics.
- Experience evaluating, implementing, and managing scientific data management platforms
- Ability to adapt to increasing scope and complexity of work brought on by growth/change and help others manage through change
- Hands on experience of building and implementing data models in and managing life science informatics systems
- Excellent project management skill, with experience managing budgets and timelines.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to effectively communicate technical information to non technical stakeholders
- Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and considerate of the needs of others
- Thrives in a fast-moving, results-oriented startup environment with urgent deadlines
- Benchling experience is a major plus
California Pay Transparency Disclosure:
This position is classified as an exempt position under the Federal Labor Standards Act. The anticipated base salary range for this position will be $160,000 - $180,000 . You will also be eligible to receive equity, bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the position offered. Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company’s sole discretion and may vary based on location, skill level, years and depth of relevant experience, and education.
