Title: Sr. Mobile Camera Solution Engineer

Lab/Position Summary:
MPI Lab is looking for a senior camera solution engineer to accelerate technology and user experience differentiations in Samsung’s Galaxy mobile platforms. As a camera solution engineer, you will be responsible for system and software solutions that deliver the best performance on top of camera hardware (silicon IP) in our Mobile Application Processors. Through software, hardware, and system optimization, you will be responsible for achieving camera use case performance targets and best-in-class power-performance trade-offs. To achieve such goal, camera solution engineer team members will be responsible for collaboration with imaging algorithm team and HW IP team, from camera HW IP requirement, analyzing architectures for world’s best image quality, low-power implementation, and delivering best-in-class power-performance. You will also be responsible for developing new advanced camera applications to differentiation our future products, and deliver new customer experiences on smartphone camera.
Responsibilities:
- Design SW architecture for complex image/vision multimedia signal processing sub-system with focus on low-power implementation
- Own SW development for the developed camera silicon HW IP
- Successfully collaborate with various functional teams (algorithm/architecture/design/verification/etc.)
- Analyze power/performance/memory usage of the owned sub-system and deliver competitiveness analysis
Qualifications :
- M.S/Ph.D. preferred in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 5-20 years of relevant experience in AP SoC, imaging subsystem, and component IP development for mobile applications
- Good understanding of AP and mobile industry and related technical trends
- Hands-on experience on camera/imaging SW development
- Good technical documentation and presentation skills
- Strong communication skills for effective interactions with R&D management as well as peer groups and team members
Necessary Skills/Attributes
- Familiarity with multimedia domain technologies for mobile AP
- Experience with camera software development and programmable processor architecture
- Familiarity with low-power design and low-power design flow
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally
