The IT Systems Administrator is an IT generalist who has experience working with a hybrid (on-prem and cloud) environment and with SaaS based applications.  This person will be responsible for provisioning and supporting the servers, network, and end-user computer infrastructure, to support the ongoing and evolving research efforts at the AI Institute.

    • Maintain, configure, and support, the computer systems, network devices, servers, and virtualized environments
    • Facilitate the IT aspects of the employee onboarding process by provisioning laptops, setting up user accounts and installing hardware
    • Troubleshoot hardware and systems errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
    • Maintain documentation of  IT procedures
    • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
    • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
    • 2-5 years of network administration, or system administration experience
    • Strong knowledge of IT systems, software, hardware, and networking protocols
    • Experience with providing first level IT support for in-office and remote employees
    • Experience working in a mixed (Windows, Mac, Linux) desktop environment
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
    • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
    • Working knowledge of virtualization and containerization is a plus
    • Ability to work in The BD AI Institute’s office in Cambridge, MA
