General Description:
HRL is seeking a systems administrator experienced in Windows and Linux environments. The successful candidate will collaborate with other systems administrators located at various locations throughout the United States. A willingness to continue learning new technologies is a must. An active TS/SCI clearance and experience in classified programs is required.
Essential Duties:
•Perform a multi-disciplined range of technical system and application activities
•Install, configure, and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software, and components
•Administer and manage Windows and Linux systems in the operations, engineering, analysis, and test environments
•Maintain Windows systems comprised of servers and workstations
•Administer installation of software, hardware, file system management, backups, process control, user administration, and device management
•Resolve a wide variety of complex system failures, troubleshooting software, hardware, and network problems
•Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Active Directory domains and forests
•Perform system and user account maintenance
•Test and assess security configuration of Windows and Linux servers
•Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance
•Analyze, test, and implement security patches and hardening
•Document maintenance actions
•Develop and promote standard operating procedures and conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
•If required, assist in IT security incident response and documentation
•Participate in internal & external security audits/inspections
Required Skills:
•Minimum 3 years of directly related experience in systems administration and cyber security
•Exchange Server 2019 configuration, management, and troubleshooting
•Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 configuration, management, and troubleshooting
•Strong understanding of Group Policy management
•Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (7, 8) is preferred
•Experience with SAN management (NetApp, Dell Unity) is preferred
•Strong understanding of multiplatform system hardening (DISA STIG, SCAP, CS2)
•Strong understanding of VMware vSphere virtual environments
•Experience with scripting for task automation (PowerShell, Batch, BASH)
•Experience with systems management and automation software (Endpoint Configuration Manager, Satellite, Ansible, Systems Center Orchestrator)
•Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops) strongly preferred
•Proficient knowledge of cyber security technology and trends (Tenable, McAfee, Splunk, etc.)
•Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing)
•Experience with High Performance Computing is preferred
•Experience with system monitoring & alerting tools (Nagios)
•Experience with Risk Management Framework and managing system accreditations
•Ability to work independently
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, and in some cases with little to no advance notice. This position requires that the applicant selected be a U.S. citizen. An active TS/SCI with poly is strongly preferred. Candidates with an active Secret clearance may be considered.
This position requires that the applicant possess a DoD
8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+, CySA+, etc.)
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $70,200 - $117,000 + bonus + benefits.
