Technical Co-Founder-Kula

Landing in US, Remote

Kula is the world’s first purpose-built platform to support & grow real-world communities in the wellness space.  Currently, people who form connections through IRL classes & events will use WhatsApp and/or group text messaging to stay connected after the fact.  The limited functionality of this experience typically leads groups to become disconnected after the initial enthusiasm wears off.  Both low and high participation cause decay, and when groups attempt to organize future real-life gatherings using these primitive messaging apps, the results are suboptimal at best.

Kula’s goal is to leverage advances in ML, along with sophisticated UX design, to develop, sustain & enhance real-life communities and the authentic human connection that is much more likely to occur in real-life communities, as opposed to general social media platforms.  We have an unusual amount of validation and a strategic pool of first-user communities anxiously awaiting our MVP.

Kula just raised a pre-seed round led by AI Fund, and we’re now building out our founding team.  This is an opportunity to take everything you’ve learned so far and make a big impact on the product, team & culture here at Kula.  More importantly, it’s an opportunity to help us address a universal human need that is not yet being met by Silicon Valley companies– the need to feel connected & accepted within a community with shared values.

This is a full-time remote opportunity for candidates based in the US and LatAm.
We are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy (including childbirth, lactation, and related medical conditions), national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information (including characteristics and testing), military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law. We believe that diversity and inclusion among our employees are critical to our success as a company, and we seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool. Selection for employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need.
