We are looking for a technical tooling expert for modern software development, who is able to architect tooling for mobility where safety and security are critical components, using a variety of open source and proprietary technologies.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
・Architect and support implementation of a software development tooling strategy (compilers, runtimes, libraries, linkers, debuggers, etc) that supports legacy use cases and improves the state of the art where possible
・Align tooling with the development platform and onboard vehicle components with other architects
・Synchronize with suppliers and OEMs to ensure our tooling strategy meets their goals
・Consult with internal service organization to help suppliers and OEMs adopt new tooling and software practices
・Participate in open source communities and standards bodies to advance industry-advancing tooling
・Hire and up-skill technical experts
・Enable a world-class engineering culture where individual opinions are heard and valued
WHAT DO WE NEED?
・Excellent communication skills, customer management, and engineering skills
・Extensive experience with modern software development tooling, especially for C and C++
・Experienced engineering practitioner in a commercial production environment
・Empathetic leader capable of understanding and supporting individual potential

・Demonstrable experience working with modern software development practices

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE
・Developing relevant modern software development tools, particularly for C++ compilers, libraries, runtimes, sanitizers, fuzzers, debuggers, linkers
・Deploying modern software development tools at scale
・Contributing to open source projects and participating in standards bodies
・Japanese communication skills, knowledge of quality management systems, automotive industry engineering, and security-conscious software design and implementation
・Familiarity with ISO 26262, SOTIF, or other functional safety standards
HELPFUL BACKGROUNDS
・Video games, simulation, or high performance computing
・Full life-cycle product development from product-market fit to production deployment
